The Loft in Stryker has hired a full time staff employee in an effort to better serve the youth of the Stryker community. Dave Frank and Eliot Nofziger told the Stryker Rotary Club about these changes at their regular meeting on September 22nd. Dave informed the club the Loft opened the doors to serve Stryker’s youth two and one-half years ago. During that time they have experienced very strong support from community members as well as the local churches.

Today they have twenty-five regular volunteers who assist with the events and Bible studies. The volunteer assistance and community support has enabled them to expand the service to younger students without overwhelming the staff. They will be hosting an event one time per month for fifth and sixth grade students this year. They will continue the Monday evening Bible study along with two large events each month.

The Loft also plans to continue to offer the “fifth quarter” event following home basketball games on Friday evenings. The full-time staff employee will fill another need for the community youth with a “Loft” presence in the school; assisting with student needs.

Eliot Nofziger has agreed to take on this very important role. Eliot spoke to the club telling them he was looking forward to the challenges that lay before him. His belief is in the community pulling together and providing mentorship with our youth that includes intergenerational dialog. He was blessed growing up with a number of mentors in his life and enjoys his current role as mentor for other young people in the Stryker community. Eliot is a graduate of Bluffton University where he served as both a Hall Chaplin and a Pastoral Assistant. Eliot and Dave spoke as a guest of Stryker Rotary Member Bruce Rosebrock.
