The Holiday City Planning Commission continued its planning for a new zoning ordinance at its meeting Thursday night.

Only two commission members, Pam Clark and Shawn Clark, were in attendance, and both discussed zoning definitions to be utilized in the proposed ordinance. Village administrator Blair Campbell was absent.

A total of 14 different zoning areas were defined, several of which either had permitted and conditional uses.

They include the following areas:

AG: Agricultural use, such as the number of livestock and acres, including the cultivation of fields and crops.

R1: Rural residential, family community residences, septic and well permits, ponds and pools, recreational and social use buildings, and other structures.

R2: Future housing development with water and sewer permits.

R3: Future residential areas.

R6: Family multi-residential dwellings.

C-B1: Neighborhood housing development.

C-B2: Cemeteries, mineral extractions, sand and gravel extraction, single-family dwelling.

C-O1: Village Hall (restricted district).

C-O2: Office and research district.

C-S1: Outdoor recreation areas.

C-S2: Auto dealers, gas stations, motels, and restaurants.

I-1: Restricted industrial district.

I-2: General industrial district.

I-3: Intensive industrial district.

O-S: Holiday City parks.

Still yet to be determined in the proposed zoning plan is the electrical substation located near Chase Wieland and the village’s water tower.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:17 p.m. The next Holiday City Planning Commission meeting is Thursday, September 4, at 5:30 pm.
