METAMORA (October 24, 2025) – Patrick Henry was in need of a win to reach the postseason in Division VI, Region 22, and win they did, running past Evergreen 51-3 in the regular season finale for both teams.

The win gave the Patriots a 7-3 record and iced a berth as the No. 8 seed in next week’s playoffs at home against No. 9 Carey.

Evergreen finished the regular season at 6-4 and was in hopes of grabbing the final spot in the 12-team bracket in the same region.

The Patriots stuffed Bryce Bolger on a fourth-and-one at the Evergreen 47 in the opening season, a play that was a precursor to what the rest of the night would be like for the Vikings, as Evergreen would get just 39 yards in offense on the night.

After gaining possession from the fourth down stop, Jaiden Rutter scamped for 17 yards, then Tristen Rosebrook hit Grant Schwab for 29 on the fourth-and-four play, to set up Cal Schroeder’s first of five touchdowns on the night from a yard away.

Patrick Henry forced a Viking punt, and Rosebrook nailed Kiefer Holloway for 25 yards, the big play on a 58-yard march that ended with a Schroder two-yard score on the first play of the second quarter to make it 13-0.

Two Quinten Eisel runs of 12 yards each, along with a pass interference penalty, got the Vikings into the red zone, where, after the Patriots held, Alex Mossing hit a 26-yard field goal to get Evergreen on the board with 7:19 left in the half.

Schwab’s 60-yard kickoff return to the Evergreen 33 gave the Patriots prime real estate, and Rosebrook hit Schroeder for 23, then Reed Creager for the final three yards that gave PH a 19-3 advantage.

That lead grew rapidly in the last five minutes of the second. Evergreen went 21 yards backwards on the next possession, including a pair of sacks for 16 yards in losses, and took over at the Viking 47 after a punt.

Rosebrook to Mitch Prigge got 20, and Schroeder covered the last 16 to the endzone for a 25-3 margin.

After getting the ball back with 51 seconds left after another punt, it took the Patriots five plays to reach the end zone on the last play of the half.

Rosebrook-to-Holloway got 12, then Creager’s catch and run for 33 set up Schroeder’s score from the three that made it 32-2 at halftime.

Rosebrook was 9-12 for 160 yards in the first half, as Patrick Henry gained 237 yards overall.

Rosebrook threw the ball two more times on the first drive of the third for 48 yards to Creager and an eight-yard scoring strike to Trent Johnson.

Schroeder added a six-yard run later in the third to end his night, then freshman Jake Smith raced 59 yards for a score in the fourth.

Patrick Henry almost was even rushing (217 yards) and passing (216) for a 433-yard night. Rosebrook finished 11-14 on the night.
