ARCHBOLD (October 22, 2025) – Norwalk St. Paul took almost three and a half times longer to ride to Archbold and back than the match took in the Division VII district volleyball final.

However, the Flyers made the long trip well worth it, as they ended Edgerton’s Cinderella tournament run, beating the Bulldogs, 25-13, 25-14, 25-20, to claim the district championship.

The Flyers used big scoring runs in each game of the match to subdue the Bulldogs. St. Paul opened fast, going up 5-1, aided by two Kegney Stoll kills.

Edgerton never caught up in the first set but hung close thanks to Alivia Farnham’s work in the middle. Farnham stuffed a St. Paul attack, then smoked a shot from the center, before scoring twice more to keep Edgerton within 17-13.

However, the Flyers ripped off an 8-0 burst to finish the set as Brooklyn Cassidy blistered the boards with a trio of middle shots before Aubrie Bogard’s right side hit ended it.

Farnham came out hot in the second, nailing two bullets and two tips for points that combined with a Kaitlyn Burke kill, gave Edgerton a 9-6 lead.

After St. Paul went up on an ace by Lily Cutiric, Ava Giesige scored to regain a tie at 10-10. However, with the teams even at 12-12, St. Paul went off again on an extended run.

Cassidy’s kill began a 12-point run, that included that included a variety of Elie Kalizewski kills, then two more from Stoll to take it to 24-12.

Elle Huard and Farnham scored to stop the run, but Kalizewski’s deep push into the corner ended the set.

Edgerton went out fighting in the final set, digging up Flyer kill attempts until the Flyers started to miss. In all, Edgerton benefited from a whopping 13 hitting and serving errors in the last set.

Farnham scored five of the seven Edgerton offensive points in the set, and the Bulldogs held a 20-18 lead late.

Yet another Kalizewski push, then an ace from the junior middle knotted the set. Cassidy scored on a quick set to give St. Paul the lead, then smashed the boards with another to give the Flyers some distance.

Two points later, Cassidy again scored on another quick set to end the match in a rapid pace of 64 minutes, to earn the Flyers the District title.

Playing in her final match at Edgerton, Farnham registered 15 kills to pace the Bulldogs. Edgerton’s season ends with a sectional title and district runner-up trophy to go with their 14-11 record.
