Runners and walkers alike laced up their shoes and embraced the crisp autumn air during the 3rd Annual 4k at 4-H Camp Palmer, held Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Hosted by the Friends of Camp Palmer in collaboration with several Ohio State University Extension Offices, it was located throughout the camp’s wooded trails and sports centers.

The event began with a check-in at 8:00 a.m., followed by the race beginning at 9:00 a.m. After crossing the line, participants gathered in the camp’s dining hall for refreshments and continued moving the morning with activities offered in the grounds.

The annual race once again brought out a strong turnout from neighboring counties such as Allen, Auglaize, Lucas, and Van Wert, with many local 4-H families joining the fun.

The 4K has become a favorite tradition for both seasoned runners and those simply looking to enjoy a walk though the natural setting of Camp Palmer. Winning first place: Milan Karlstadt, with second and third being Layne Ford and Kalvin Woodring.

Organizers commented that they were pleased with the participation and the enthusiasm from the community, noting they hope the event continues to grow each year.

The Friends of Camp Palmer emphasized that the 4K not only encourages fitness but also highlights the value of outdoor education and community engagement at the camp.
