The Holiday City Planning Committee met on Thursday, December 18, and discussed conditional zoning ordinances. Committee members in attendance were Blair Campbell, Pam Clark, Shawn Clark, Ryan Henricks, and Brooke Knepper.

Discussion centered around the R-6 Zoning Code, which is considered conditional and permanent zoning, according to the committee.

The purpose of conditional and permanent zoning is for public education, utility uses, as well as religious institutions, private and parochial, in highly condensed areas.

Also, under the conditional zoning use, it involves the square footage of various sizes of residences.

For a one-bedroom home, it requires 600 square feet; a two-bedroom home requires 800 square feet, and three or more-bedroom home requires 1,000 square feet.

It was discussed that commercial trucks cannot be parked in residential areas; however, pickup trucks and vans are excluded from this requirement.

The committee also discussed the CS-2 Zoning ordinance, which involves an automotive supportive business district. It will apply to all areas within 200 feet of State Route 15.

The next meeting of the zoning committee is on Thursday, January 15, at 5:30 p.m.
