SCHOOL EXPANSION … The guest speaker at the January 21, 2026 meeting of Kiwanis Club of Bryan was Mark Rairigh (left), the Superintendent of the Bryan City School District. Mr. Rairigh spoke to the group about what he called the “Big Three” projects that the district is currently undertaking in the Academic, Arts, and Athletic areas. The first area, academic, is the construction of a new building that he called the Career Tech Expansion that will house the first industrial art classes in the school in 25 years. In addition, the new building will also house a new Junior High School Gymnasium, which is the athletic component of the “Big Three”. This building is funded by a grant from the State of Ohio. Lastly, the arts component is the renovation of the Arts and Education building that was originally constructed in 1917. Plans call for tearing down the back section of the building that housed the old classrooms and gymnasium. In its place new construction will provide for rehearsal space, storage, and set building connecting to the existing auditorium that will also undergo extensive renovation. The auditorium will also receive a new lobby area and exterior entrance to modernize the building both aesthetically and functionally.
