MONTPELIER – Montpelier clinched a piece of the Buckeye Border Conference title with a convincing 69-27 victory over Fayette in “The Railyard.”

The victory guaranteed the Locos (16-2, 6-0 BBC) a share of their third straight BBC title as they now seek the outright crown when they visit Edon on Friday night.

Montpelier wasted little time jumping out to a 24-6 first-quarter lead against Fayette (5-14, 0-6 BBC). Wesley Hartsock led a balanced scoring attack for Montpelier with 22 points. CJ Fidler added 21 points while Hayden Sharps and Kenneth Smeltzer contributed 10 points each.

Mason Leininger led Fayette with 12 points.
