The York Township Board of Trustees met for its regular session on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, beginning at 6:32 p.m. at the York Township Administration Building.

During the fire chief’s report, trustees were updated on staffing and equipment needs. The chief said a new applicant had been submitted to trustees by email and reported that one new member had started fire class on Monday.

Two additional individuals were also being brought on as probationary members and were sent to fire class as well. The chief noted one member had finished EMT class and was continuing with additional training.

The chief also reported receiving another application for a part-time position but had not yet followed up.

He said the new additions brought the roster back up to 40, after several members left over the last year due to moves and other changes.

The board discussed the need to purchase turnout gear, with the chief stating that several sets are now out of date and additional new personnel will need to be fitted for equipment.

He explained that the department had hoped to use funding connected to Swan Creek, but delays at Swan Creek have held up the process.

He said he had contacted the BWC representative and was told an address issue was being corrected, noting the opportunity could close again.

Discussion indicated the total cost for five sets would be closer to $20,000, and the chief said he would forward the full invoice information to trustees. Trustees approved the use of $20,000 for five new sets of turnout gear.

The board also discussed an EMS billing service agreement. The chief said the agreement language would be updated and that costs would need to be laid out clearly, likely in an addendum, noting that some billing services include activation fees.

Trustees indicated the topic would be brought back for further action at a future meeting.

Later in the meeting, trustees approved an engineer’s estimate related to the Fulton County Engineer’s 2026 programs for seal coat, asphalt resurfacing, and pavement marking for York Township roads. The board also adopted updated permanent appropriations for fiscal year 2026.

Two advances were also approved to manage early-year cash flow. Trustees approved a $40,000 advance from the general fund to the road and bridge fund, and an $82,000 advance from the general fund to the EMS fund.

Trustees also approved minutes from the January 28, 2026, meeting and approved electronic vouchers as presented.

The board went into executive session at 7:38 for personnel, and upon returning, the meeting was adjourned. The next regular meeting will be February 25, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.
