On February 27, 2026, at approximately 7:07 p.m., an officer with the Stryker Police Department attempted a traffic stop on South Defiance Street near Curtis Street in the Village of Stryker for a minor equipment violation.
The driver, identified as Jeryme Koch, 44, of Stryker, pulled into a driveway, exited the vehicle, and fled on foot after being instructed to return to the vehicle. The officer secured the vehicle, and additional units responded.
With assistance from the Williams County Sheriffs Office and the West Unity Police Department, officers established a perimeter at a nearby residence. Mr. Koch exited the residence shortly thereafter and surrendered without incident.
Mr. Koch was charged with Fleeing and Eluding and Driving Under Suspension. He was transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.
