PRESS RELEASE – A local teen has achieved an impressive literary milestone at the Wauseon Public Library.

Morgan Ellinwood, a dedicated library patron and high school student, has officially completed the library’s 100 Books By Graduation challenge, a program that encourages teens to read 100 books before finishing high school.

For her accomplishment, Morgan was awarded a customized shirt celebrating her achievement and a free book of her choice.

Morgan’s connection with the library began in childhood, when she would visit with her mother.

That early exposure to books sparked a lifelong love of reading and a passion for the library environment.

Morgan is now a regular visitor and an active member of the library’s Teen Advisory Council. This group works closely with Library Director Dan Baldwin, providing input on book selections and teen programming.

One of Morgan’s favorite authors is Holly Black, and she recommends Black’s fantasy novel, “Folk of the Air,” to fellow readers.

Looking to the future, Morgan plans to pursue a career in teaching, focusing on history and fostering literacy in schools.

She will attend Northwest State Community College after graduation, with hopes of transferring to a larger university to complete her degree.

When asked what she loves most about the library, Morgan said, “Libraries make it easy to read the books I want to read. They’re free, and I can enjoy the quiet environment to read or sit with my friends.”

The 100 Books By Graduation challenge is open to all high school teens. For more information, visit the library, speak with Director Dan Baldwin, or check out the Teens tab on the library’s website.
