The Ohio EPA has issued roughly $27,000 in funding to support a local public water system project.
Aqua Ohio, which serves portions of Williams County, was awarded $27,449 through an emergency generator grant tied to Lake Seneca.
The company was among 122 public water systems across 58 counties selected to receive a share of more than $2.8 million distributed by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
The awards are financed through the U.S. EPA’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Capitalization Grants. The program is designed to help water systems maintain dependable drinking water service, improve protection of water sources, properly seal inactive wells, and purchase emergency generators.
“Providing this assistance to more than 120 water systems statewide is truly a win-win,” Ohio EPA Director John Logue said.
“It gives these systems the ability to strengthen their operations at no added cost — and, most importantly, helps Ohio families count on more reliable water.”
