The Pulaski Township Zoning Commission and Board of Trustees met on June 23, 2026, to hold a public hearing for a rezoning request and to discuss participation in a Trap-Neuter-Return program for stray cats.

The Zoning Commission held a public hearing for a rezoning request submitted by Riehle Edge Investments for two acres of property located along U.S. Route 127.

The business’s property was originally zoned residential before being rezoned to commercial at the owner’s request to accommodate their business.

However, after determining that the building would require an estimated $400,000 in upgrades to meet Ohio building code requirements, the owner elected to relocate the business elsewhere.

Riehle Edge Investments submitted a written statement requesting that the property be returned to its original residential zone so it could be used as a residence.

Commission members Rob Shaffer, Rob Hartsock, Kim Maynard, Bob Walker, and Jeff Arnold approved the application with no objections.

They forwarded a recommendation for approval to the Pulaski Township Trustees, who will make the final decision at the next meeting.

Trustees began their regular meeting at 6:45 p.m., and discussed a TNR program within Pulaski Township.

Chairman Tom Saul, Terry Witte, Scott Noble, and Fiscal Officer Deanne Batterson were in attendance.

Zoning Inspector Todd Burkholder and Road Supervisor Steven Holbeck were also present.

Batterson reported one permit application and four ongoing. She expects some fees to be sent to the Township Office soon.

The board also received information regarding cybersecurity services intended to help them comply with House Bill 96.

A quote was received, but the trustees are opting to explore other options before making a final decision.

Trustees approved a $500 contribution to the Williams County Humane Society’s Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program.

According to the information presented by the Humane Society, the donation will help fund the sterilization of around 11 cats.

The program is designed to humanely reduce stray and feral cat populations through trapping, spaying or neutering, and returning animals to their original locations. Locals wishing to participate can contact the Williams County Humane Society.

The meeting concluded with a maintenance report from Holbeck. With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:57 p.m. The next Pulaski Township meeting is scheduled for July 7, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
