RENOVATION UPDATE … The guest speaker at the Kiwanis Club of Bryan’s weekly meeting was Pheba Banerjee-Sam, the director of The Sanctuary Homeless Shelter in Bryan. Mrs. Sam spoke with the group about recent renovations at the facility as well as its expansion. The goals at the shelter for its clients are to help them become self-sufficient and to work to get them off welfare and into jobs. The shelter helps clients save the requisite amount of money needed to find an apartment. The shelter’s desire is to help people get their lives in balance. The Sanctuary believes that the cornerstone to a successful life is a valid living relationship with our Lord and Savior. They act as His tool to help them find this necessary relationship with Jesus. Pictured L to R: Pheba Banerjee-Sam and Kent Hardy, Kiwanian and program host.
