PETTISVILLE – The Pettisville Lady Blackbirds gave Coach Jason Waldvogel an early Christmas present in The Birdcage on December 7. Their sticky defense held the North Central Lady Eagles to just six first half points en route to a 56-32 beatdown of their BBC rivals. Once the final buzzer sounded though, the Christmas present became official…the win was the 200th for Coach Waldvogel at the helm of the Ladybirds.

“It was a nice team win tonight,” said Coach Waldvogel. “We did a good job defensively, especially in the first half taking their scorers out of the game. Our offense was balanced tonight with different people stepping up at different times of the game.”

Lauren Hostetler led the 3-2/1-1 Lady Blackbirds with a game-high 16 points, while Mikala Avina and Dana Fricke each added 13. Audra Klopfenstein put in 8 points, Jordyn Pursel had 4 and Patrice Smith 2 points.

Bralyn Wyrick was limited to 9 points for the Lady Eagles, with Tiana Wheeler getting 8 points and Shaylee Oyer being limited to 7. Sabrina Pickford and Julia Rhinard closed out the scoring with 4 points apiece.
