Montpelier Chapter #270, Women of the Moose, honored members holding the College of Regents degree, the highest degree in the WOTM, at a special chapter meeting Thursday, Nov. 5th. Visiting collegians from Bryan and Defiance chapters attended. Higher Degree Committee chairman Joyce Schelling introduced the collegians and thanked those attending. Chapter officers explained the history of the degree which is conferred upon past regents who meet eligibility requirements and chapters earning the Award of Achievement. Joyce explained a new collegian is invested with the black cap and gown and green tassel at International Conference. A year later, the collegian is invested with a red tassel. After three years as a collegian, she is invested with a red stole. The committee plans a bake sale Friday, Nov. 20th at the Montpelier Lodge to benefit the Mooseheart Music Department, Moosehaven Beauty Shop, and WOTM Scholarship & Maintenance Fund. Following the meeting refreshments were served and a game was held and door prizes were awarded. Tuesday, Nov. 24th at 6:30 p.m. collegians will assist with card bingo for residents a Evergreen Manor.
