N06A8990STRYKER…It got plenty ugly in The Cage on January 8.

In the midst of a major rebuild, the Stryker Lady Panthers have had a season of growing pains, interspersed with flashes of the brilliance that for years has made them a first-tier program. On January 8, it was considerably less of the latter as the Archbold Lady Streaks came to town. Ranked #4 in the State Division III standings, the Lady Streaks brought their 11-1 record to The Cage, and showed all in attendance that the record and ranking were real. Jumping out to an early double-digit lead, the visitors expanded the margin to 22 at the end of the first period and went on to a 70-36 beatdown of the Lady Panthers.

Conner Varner was the lone Lady Panther in double digits with 16 points for Stryker, with Hannah Doehrmann adding 8. Connor Sullivan put up 7 points, Christie Huston and Jordan Waidelich had 2 points apiece, and Maddie Uribes added a free throw.

SCORING BY QUARTER:

Archbold  25  13  20  12 – 70
Stryker  3  10  10  13 – 36
