Bradly Gilbert appeared in court on Tuesday, April 5 with counsel, Stacey Stiriz, Esquire. Also present in court that day was Katherine Zartman, Williams County Prosecutor. Upon admission of Stipulated Joint Exhibit 1, the court found that Gilbert is competent to stand trial on the charge of Aggravated Murder. Gilbert was indicted on the charge on November 10, 2015. The charges are related to the death of 28 year old Jonathan M. Hofner on October 23, 2015.

A motion for the reviewing of audio discovery outside of the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio made by the defense was also denied.

Court personnel has confirmed with CCNO that appropriate accommodations will be made for counsel and the defendant to review the audio discovery at CCNO. The accommodations will include a secured conference room and equipment should it become necessary. Counsel may provide their own laptop, speakers, and other technical needs for the viewing. Gilbert’s private investigator is also permitted to attend the conference and viewing of the discovery at counsel’s discretion. Counsel shall contact CCNO directly to make arrangements for the extended time necessary to facilitate the review of the discovery.

A pretrial conference for the case is scheduled for May 5, 2016 at 10:00 AM.
