DSC_0016 WEBArchbold, OH – Enjoy an afternoon of inspirational music and family fun on Sunday, June 12 during the annual Gospel Music Concert and Faith & Family Day at Sauder Village. With Sojourner Quartet and Soul’d Out Quartet performing and a variety of extra activities planned in the Historic Village – families, churches and other groups are encouraged to enjoy a fun-filled and memorable day away at Sauder Village.

During the afternoon concert, the sounds of beautiful gospel music will fill the air as the Sojourner Quartet and Soul’d Out Quartet perform in Founder’s Hall. Pianist Jim Stewart will open the concert at 3:30 p.m. Jim has been sharing his musical talents at Sauder Village for many years and will entertain the crowd with both contemporary songs of praise and traditional hymns. The 4:00 concert in Founder’s Hall is included with admission to the Historic Village.

Sojourner Quartet is a southern gospel quartet based in Findlay, Ohio. They are currently national recording artists with Chapel Valley Studio on the Church House label. Sojourner began in 1991 as a contemporary Christian group playing their own instruments and writing many of their own songs. As their popularity spread they began to perform across the country. In 2007 the group went solely southern gospel. Over the years, several of their songs released to southern gospel radio made the charts in the USA and in Europe. Their mission is to glorify God through their music and personal testimony. Sojourner Quartet members are Mark May, Larry Counterman, Jeff McGlade and Isaac Steinhour. For more information about this southern gospel quartet visit www.sojournerquartet.com

Also performing at Sauder Village this year is the Soul’d Out Quartet from Georgetown, Ohio. This vocal group travels the country continuing the heritage of southern gospel music. The quartet includes members Dusty Barrett, Bryan Hutson, Matt Rankin, Ian Owens and Michael Howard. More details about this gospel group can be found online at www.souldoutquartet.com

Again this year, Sauder Village has also planned a “Faith and Family Day” as part of the annual Gospel Music Concert event. There will be old-fashioned games to play on the Village Green, free face painting, cordage bracelets and a take-home craft activity for children to make.

“We look forward to having many families and church groups join us for our Gospel Music Concert and Faith & Family Day again this year,” shared Kim Krieger, Media Relations. “The afternoon gospel concert and the extra activities in the Historic Village are included with admission to Sauder Village and kids 16 and under are free on Sunday! With special rates for groups, fun extra activities and an afternoon of inspirational entertainment – we’re hoping many people will plan a fun get-away at Sauder Village.”

Historic Sauder Village is open this summer Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from noon-4:00 p.m. The Village is closed on Mondays, except holidays. Admission is $16.00/adults, $10.00/students (6-16) and free for members and children 5 and under. Active duty military personnel and their immediate families are also free through Labor Day. Again this year, children 16 and under are free every Sunday this season – including for the Gospel Music Concert and Faith & Family Day!
