Two long-standing Edon community organizations are the recipients of financial donations from the Edon Area Foundation.
Representatives from Friends of the Edon Public Library and Edon Area Ministerial Association were each recently presented checks in the amount of $220.50 by John Toner, Edon Area Foundation Advisory Committee President. Plans for the donated funds include purchasing additional library shelving and meeting local needs through the Edon Food Pantry.
The Edon Area Foundation was established October 25, 2000 as a component fund within The Bryan Area Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. As designated by the Internal Revenue Service, all donations are fully deductible for federal income tax purposes.
Over the years, $7,188.08 has been distributed to fourteen community projects or organizations within the Edon Northwest Local School District and tens of thousands of dollars have been provided as scholarship grants to Edon Northwest High School graduating seniors. As of September 30, 2012, donations to The Edon Area Foundation now total $572,186.12.
If you are interested in making a donation to improve the lives of Edon area residents, please contact John Toner at 419-272-2443.
