Strong 4th Quarter Puts North Central Over A Defiant Montpelier Squad

PIONEER – The Montpelier Locomotives have found wins elusive this season, but they came close to putting a huge notch in their belts on February 9. The Locos held an early lead over North Central, but fell behind at the half. Montpelier gained the momentum to tie the Eagles going into the fourth, but Jalen Dancer hit on 11 of his 16 points in the final quarter to lead North Central past the Locomotives by a 57-49 score.

Josh Taylor landed 12 points and Cam Cochran had 10 in support of Dancer. Kole Peterson had 9 points, Dylan Hutchison put in 8, and Branden Turner and Brandon Geiser each had a free throw.

Blaine Thorp led all scorers with 19 for Montpelier, while Cody Caudill had 9 points and Nate McCord 8. Alex Matzinger had 7 points, Jacob Leung knocked down 4 points, and Parker Houk had a deuce.
