The Stryker Village Council is selling some land to a consulting firm in hopes it could bring in a new business.
The council met in special session Aug. 17 to discuss the lone sealed bid for a 1.7-acre parcel across from the school track. The council discussed the proposal for 32 minutes before deciding to accept the bid.
The purchaser is GBT Consulting, Inc. Their offer was for $20,000. The firm works with several businesses including Family Dollar, Fiscal Officer Beth Rediger
The parcel is part of 36 acres the village leases out for farming. The land is zoned residential so any change in use will require rezoning.
“It has to be compatible with the area,” Rediger said.
