PETTISVILLE – The league-leading Fayette Eagles travelled to Pettisville on February 22 to face off against the Pettisville Blackbirds. Pettisville got out to an early lead, and even built on it in the third quarter, but a huge surge by Fayette in the fourth gave the Eagles enough to push it to overtime where they outscored Pettisville by a bucket to win, 49-47.

Logan Franks led the Eagles with 14 points, scoring from all over the court with 8 points inside the arc, one bucket from long range, and 3 points from the line. Also putting up big points for the Eagles were Chandler Sanford and Zayne Colegrove with 12 and 11 respectively.

For Pettisville, Reyes and Valdez combined for 29 of Pettisville’s 47 points (Reyes with 15 and Valdez with 14). Valdez did all of his scoring in the first half when the Blackbirds were in control. The Eagles did a good job keeping him under control after halftime.

SCORING BY QUARTER:

Fayette 8 12 6 14 9 – 49
Pettisville 11 12 9 8 7 – 47
