WEST UNITY – The Edon Bombers took their show on the road to West Unity to face the Hilltop Cadets on February 22. In the fourth, both teams exploded for over 20 points, but it was the home team Cadets who came out on top, winning 57-55.
With 23 points and 7 rebounds, Payne Sentle was definitely a driving force in the Cadet victory. Brandon Willis led the Cadets in rebounding with 10 while also scoring 9 points, and Erik Stipe had 6 assists on the night in addition to his 11 points.
For Edon, Sapp and Wicker led the team with 16 and 12 points respectively. The Edon defense was great in terms of pressure, forcing 23 turnovers during the game, and allowing Hilltop fewer shot attempts as a result which kept the Bombers in it all the way to the final seconds.
