Bryan Library Plans Fun Events For Adults In October

On Tuesday, October 11 senior citizens are invited to make quilling crafts at the Bryan Library West Annex from 3:00 to 5:00 pm or 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Come and create beautiful decorative items with paper quilling, the art of arranging small paper scrolls in delicate designs. You will learn how to assemble a design, then create cards or pictures with step-step instructions and patterns. You are welcome to bring your own quilling supplies. However, plenty of supplies will be provided. Bring a friend and come and enjoy this fun session!

Attend Adult Trivia at the Bryan Main Library West Annex! Held on Thursdays in the Harmon Room, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, participants will take part in Adult Timeless Trivia by Sentimental Productions. Each program will begin with film clips, historic photos, and commentaries being shown. Then, the trivia questions will begin! Have fun, and see how many questions you can get correct!

Each week will have a different theme of trivia questions. The trivia schedule for October is:
October 13: Stars, Lives, and Legends of the Old West
October 20: Advertising Slogans, Jingles, and Taglines
October 27: The Explosive Era of the Baby Boomers

Are you constantly Pinning but have rarely ever tackled a project? Well here’s your chance to get creative, at the Bryan Main Library West Annex, with the upcoming “Saw it, Pin it, Let’s Do it!” Pinterest Parties. Were “In it to Pin it!”


On Tuesday, October 18 create with the master paper crafter, JoEllen Culbertson! Make two unique small treat boxes for that special someone out of paper. These 2.5” boxes can be filled with candy, trinkets or a small surprise. There will be two classes, 3:00 to 5:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Decorate your creations for a special holiday, birthday or event. All supplies will be provided. Just bring a friend.

The Bryan Main Library West Annex will be holding a monthly Bilingual Class, with sessions running from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm, on the last Tuesday of each month. This month’s class will be held on Tuesday, October 25 in the Harmon Room.

Come join in on sessions where we learn and practice how to speak English and Spanish basics. Spontaneous phrases, proper phonics, and, pronunciation. Practicing every day common ways of saying everyday conversations. No test, just sharing and helping each other learn: “How do you say”? Or ¿Cómo se dice? Ven a unirse a las sesiones en las que aprenderas y practicaras cómo hablar lo básico en inglés y español. Frases espontáneas, fonéticas adecuadas, y pronunciación. La práctica de cada día formas comunes de decir las conversaciones cotidianas. No hay ninguna prueba, sólo compartir y ayudar mutuamente a aprender: How do you say? O ¿Cómo se dice?
