BOYS SWIM and DiVE
Sylvania Southview 52, Wauseon 42
The Indians were defeated in a close dual meet with Sylvania Southview. Despite the loss some Indians swimmers came away with some impressive wins. Freshman Branden Arrendondo broke the 24 second plateau in the 50 Freestyle with a winning time of 23.90. Tony Schweinagen dove to victory in the diving competition for the Indians as the diving portion of the meet was completed. The team of Mac Warncke, Arrendondo, Ryan Scherer and Nicholas Dilworth swam to victory in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:34.17. Dilworth then came back and broke a seven-year-old school record winning the 100 Backstroke in 57.91 to eclipse the record set by Logan Blue in 2010 by .01 seconds. In the final event of the meet the Indians foursome of Scherer, Arrendondo, Austin Schuette and Dilworth swam to victory with a time of 3:33.11.

The Indians won first in the tri meet. Sydney Darnell was the first winner for Wauseon in the 200 IM with a winning time of 2:16.37. McKenzie Darnell swam to victory in the 50 Freestyle in 25.40. The diving competition saw a Wauseon sweep of the top three places as Patience Bachman dove to the win followed by Alexys Carteaux and Audry Lane. It was Sydney Darnell again with a win in the 100 Butterfly in 1:00.41. McKenzie, not to be outdone by her sister, swam to her second victory also in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 56.73. Brooke Schuette added a win in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:35.49. The Darnell sisters and Schuette were joined by Alexys Carteaux and won the 200 Freestyle Relay in 1:45.06. The same foursome swam to a win in the final event the 400 Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:53.03.

Swanton 72, Bryan 6
In a NWOAL quad match, the Swanton Bulldogs wrestled to a double win night while the Bryan Golden Bears fell twice. The Bulldogs started the evening with a dominating win over the Patriots. Winners for Swanton included: Zack Schaller (by forfeit at 113); Trevor Schaller (by forfeit at 120); Tyler Anderson (by a 9-1 decision at 126); Gage Pachlhofer (by pin at 132); Noah Saunders (by forfeit at 138 lbs.): Chase Moore (by pin at 145); Ryan Marvin (by pin at 152); Mitchel Reisinger (by forfeit at 160); Zach Leahey (by pin at 182); T. Lytle (by forfeit at 285).
In the Bulldogs win over Bryan, the Golden Bears only win came at 195 where Eion Moor won by pin over Crew Oberheim of Swanton. The Bulldogs dominated the rest of the action again with the following winners: A. Minn (by forfeit at 106); Zack Schaller (by pin at 113); Trevor Schaller (by pin at 126); Gage Pachlhofer (by pin at 132); Noah Saunders (by pin at 138); Chase Moore (by pin at 145); Ryan Marvin (by pin at 152); Mitchel Reisinger (by forfeit at 160); Zack Leahey (by pin at 170); Eion Moor (by pin at 195); Greg Wilson (by pin at 220); Tommy Lytle (by pin at 285). In Bryan’s match with Liberty Center the Golden Bears got wins from: Eion Moor and Connor Ford who both won by pin at 182 and 195 respectively.
BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL
Hilltop 77, Montpelier 71 (OT)
The BBC leader the Hilltop Cadets were forced into overtime but were able to improve to 12-1 and 8-0 in the conference with their eight-point victory. Tim Maneval ended the night with seven three-point shots and 35 points to lead Hilltop. Kolden Uribes also played an explosive game for the Locomotives (8-6, 4-4) as he connected on five three-pointers and led his tea with 31 points. Quinn Smith played his typical solid game adding 27 points for the winners. Michael Blake and Caleb Rockey also scored double figures for the Locomotives with 20 points and 11 points respectively.
Pettisville 53, Edon 28
The Blackbirds (8-5, 6-2) used a 30-13 second half to run away from the Bombers (1-11, 1-7). Three Pettisville players finished in double figures including Dillon King with 12 points and Detric Yoder and Jacoby Graeme with 11 points apiece. Travis Siebenaler led Edon with 13 points.
North Central 48, Fayette 40
Fayette scored 22 points in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough as North Central soared to the BBC victory. North Central was led by Nick Henry with 16 points including seven of eight at the charity stripe. Josh Roesener added 13 points in the win. Fayette also had two players in double figures as Clayton Pheils finished with 15 points and Trey Keefer added 10 points.
GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL
Archbold 90, Wauseon 47
The Bluestreaks stayed perfect at 15-0 with the dominating NWOAL win over Wauseon. Kierstyn Repp was on fire as the senior connected for six three-point shots to help her finish with 24 points and the game’s leading scorer. Join Repp in double figures were Andi Peterson with 14, Alyssa Ziegler and Morgan Miller with 11 apiece and Kamryn Hostetler with 10. The Indians, who suffered 24 turnovers during the contest, were led by Aliza Dauterman with 13 and Brianna Castellano with 12.
Patrick Henry 49, Delta 44
The Panthers held a 29-26 half time lead but could not match the second half performance by Patrick Henry as they were sent to their second NWOAL loss in three tries. M Miller and E Clifton led Delta with 10 points apiece.

Montpelier 31, Hilltop 27

North Central 33, Fayette 31 (OT)
It was an 8-6 win in the overtime session that led the Eagles to the win. North Central finished eight of nine from the foul line as all eight overtime points came from the charity stripe. Levi Williams led the Eagles with 11 points. Noah Brineger led Fayette and all scorers with 15 points.
BOYS JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL
North Central 40, Hicksville 38
7th grade – This game teeter tottered back and forth for much of the contest. Meant with stiff competition throughout The Eagles overcame and conquered the tough non-conference opponent. Scorers for North Central included: Zack Hayes with 17, Tucker Beres with 11, Colin Patten with seven, Sammy Wheeler with three and Mason Sanford added two.
Hicksville 49, North Central 36
8th grade – The Eagles were up for a challenge and a challenge they got from the 9-1 Hicksville squad. Putting up a good fight in the loss were: Ben Turner with 13, Travis Schmunk with nine, Roman Sutton with seven, Adam Bentley with four and Luke Zuver with three.
