Edgerton Village Council met in a special session on Tuesday, July 28, and accepted the resignation of Public Works Superintendent Kip Pahl.

All council members were present for the meeting: Leslie Van Ausdale, Pam Wampler, Sharon Blinzler, Jason Gruver, Chuck Wallace, and Brian Bowsher.

Mayor Robert Day called the meeting to accept the resignation of Pahl, who has served as the Public Works Superintendent since 2018 after having served as street supervisor from 2016 to 2018. His resignation will take effect on Friday, July 31, 2026.

In his resignation letter, which was read by Day, Pahl wrote that he appreciated the opportunity to serve the Village of Edgerton and work alongside a dedicated group of employees, elected officials and community members.

“From my standpoint, Kip (Pahl) is one of the good guys as far as ‘old school’ goes coming down to his connection that we had,” said Day.

“We talked a lot about owning your own business, working by yourself, figuring things out and has gone the extra mile as there were a lot of projects. There is no question that he will be missed as I want to say thank you for his service.”

After accepting Pahl’s resignation, the council then approved a motion to advertise the vacant position.

Several council members had questioned how the village is going to find someone who currently holds the required water and sewer licenses in a short amount of time to fill the position.

Council went into an executive session to discuss the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion or compensation of a public employee(s) or official. No action was taken.
