
Stryker – “We are extremely pleased with your performance and hoping that you stay for many, many more years.” This was one of the numerous positive comments shared by Quadco Non-Profit Board President, Jean Jackman, during the Board’s annual evaluation of Executive Director, Bruce Abell. The evaluation was part of the organization’s regular monthly meeting. Jackman went on to say that Abell, “Does a great job of keeping the Board informed and on top of things.”
Prior to the monthly meeting, the Board held its annual organizational meeting. Three of the Board members chose to serve on the Center’s Non-Profit Board in 2017 and elected officers. Jean Jackman of Defiance was elected as the Non-Profit Board president, Tootie Bockelman from Napoleon is Non-Profit Board vice president, and Barb Heer of Stryker is the secretary.
Two Board members chose to serve on the Center’s Administrative Board during the year. The members elected Ruth Ann Osborne of Bryan as president and Linda Woodall of Stryker as vice president.
Quadco’s Employment Services Manager, Rachel Lange, told the Board Members that Northwest Employment Services is currently serving 45 individuals in Job Placement Services. That number is a 50% increase from the year prior. Lange attributed the increase to Quadco being known as a provider of quality services and the department’s success in placing individuals in competitive employment quickly. Lange shared with members that some of the employment opportunities recently obtained are: clerical related, cashier, and dietary aides.
In other business, the Board scheduled March 22, 2017, for the organization’s Annual Planning Session.
The next regular meeting of the Non-Profit Board will be February 28, 2017, in the Stryker facility conference room.
