The Fulton County Board of Commissioners tackled a light agenda March 9.
The commissioners approved:
A proclamation declaring April to be Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention month and ask residents to support this designation April 12 by wearing blue apparel. Abuse and neglect affected 329 children in Fulton County in 2016.
Approved a county credit card for Judge Jeffrey L. Robison with a credit limit of $2,000.
Amended the water rate agreement for Swanton effective March 16, the village will pay the Toledo Block Rate of $3.79 per 1,000 gallons (includes 75 percent surcharge); the Lucas County surcharge of $0.37 per 1,000 gallons; the Fulton County surcharge of $0.29 per 1,000 gallons and the Swancreek Water District surcharge of $0.35 per 1,000 gallons.
Updated the policy for sending flowers or memorials for deceased or hospitalized officials, employees or families.
Deceased Officials or employees – $75.
Death of immediate family member of official or employee – $50
Death of retired official or employee – $50
Hospitalization of official or employee – $40.
The original policy of 2001 called for funding to come from the sale of pop and candy, but now it will come out the general fund.
Approved a contract between the county JFS office and Mohican Youth Academy to provide placement and other services. The contract is $85,000 and good through Dec. 31.
