ARCHBOLD – The agricultural community in Fulton County was proud to induct four deserving individuals in the Fulton County Agricultural Hall of Fame this past Monday night, August 24th in Archbold. The annual event is to recognize selected farmers or agribusiness leaders from our county who have committed over 25 years or more of service to the agricultural industry in our county, state or region. Since 1983, there have been 132 honorees inducted into the Fulton County Agricultural Hall of Fame. Members with livestock projects were reminded that animals were to arrive at the fairgrounds on Friday, September 11 between 8:00 AM an 7:00 PM. Animals will be weighed when they arrive. The Stryker Rotary Club listened to a presentation about Sarah’s House during their regular meeting on August 25th. Katie Cramer told the club that Sarah’s House is set up to serve victims of crime and many of the people they serve are involved in domestic violence. The priority in all cases is to insure the safety of the person, but other needs are met as well. They are called upon to provide basic needs of victims such as food and shelter and at time the support extends further. The 2015 Williams County Fairboard and the Williams County Fair Foundation are pleased to announce that the benefit for the Florence Township Edon Fire Department was a great success. MONTPELIER, OHIO – The Williams County Health Department received confirmation today of the second case of West Nile virus (WNV) in the county this year – following a fatal case of a 91-year-old man. Throughout the state, there are 9 confirmed cases of WNV so far in 2015. While the statewide WNV infection rate in mosquitoes remains low relative to previous years, there has been a steady increase in WNV infections in mosquitoes in Ohio. Richard Alvin Neill, 77, of West Unity, died Monday evening, August 24, 2015 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.  He was born March 10, 1938 in Morenci, MI to the late Alvin and Emma (DeWulf) Neill.  He married Nan J.( Conner) Allen on July 2, 1994 in West Unity, OH and she survives. William E. Mavis, 75 years, of Alvordton, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015, in his residence. William was born on September 27, 1939, to the late Robert A.J. and Irene Marie (Stahl) Mavis in Farmer, Ohio. He was a 1957 graduate of Farmer High School. William married Shirley L.
