Rob and Julia Benfield of Benfield Wines have been making wine for about 15 years. The winery started as a gesture of love with Rob making wine for his wife of 20+ years, Julia, and their friends.
After much encouragement from those friends and family, the Benfields decided to turn this pastime into a family business. They sold online and privately for three years then moved from Pettisville to Swanton to be closer to their customers, finding the perfect spot to open initially on the corner of 295 and Shaffer Rd. After almost two years and lots of loyal customers, they have outgrown their current space and are excited to announce they will be opening a new tasting room in downtown Swanton.
Julia Benfield states “We are proud to be part of the Swanton Community and look forward to expanding our operations at 102 N. Main Street.
Our new facility will have room for small parties and events, art classes, and, of course, enjoying our wine selection with plans and the space to grow more in the future”.

We appreciate how supportive the Village Administrators and Chamber of Commerce have been in helping us see our dream come true.” Benfield wines will continue to offer tastings Tuesday through Saturday.
