Biggby Coffee in Wauseon celebrated new ownership on Tuesday morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony put on by the Wauseon Chamber of Commerce.

Biggby’s Wauseon store, located at 480 Airport Highway, was purchased by Brody Weber who had been the operating manager since 2019. When he started his position at that time, he had no intention or idea that his path would lead him to where he is today.

“I had no intentions of buying it at that time even though I was aware they were selling it. I just wanted to be the manager for a little bit, but I discovered I had a knack for running the store and it piqued my interest,” said Mr. Weber.

He also talked about how it has been his dream since he was a child to own a coffee shop and how he wants to help serve the community.

“The thing I am looking forward to the most is being able to directly support the community in the ways it needs. The whole reason I got into owning a coffee shop is because I wanted to create a safe environment where people can go and be themselves.”

“A second home environment where people can go. Sometimes people need a consistent environment, a good cup of coffee, and a friendly face that means have a good day and wants you to have a good day and is not just something we say,” said Mr. Weber.

During the ribbon cutting ceremony many customers were continuing to come in and choose an item from their selection of different coffees, teas, smoothies and food.

Surrounded by friends, family, co-workers and members of the Wauseon Chamber of Commerce, Brody took the ceremonial scissors in hand to cut the ribbon and start on his new journey. “I am greatly looking forward to serving Wauseon alongside my team to continue offering the great service we have provided for years,” said Mr. Weber.

And the Wauseon location, under Brody’s management has continued to provide excellent service. The location has won store of the year for the Northwest Ohio region for the past three running years, with 2020 not being an award year.

So, head on over to Biggby Coffee next time you stop by and have a great cup of coffee and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
