The Bridgewater Township Trustees met for their regular meeting on March 18, 2026, addressing road permits, a church demolition agreement, and several financial matters.
In attendance: Chairman Brandon Hinkle, Austin Rummel, Mike Elser, and Fiscal Officer Nicki Cogswell.
Road right-of-way work permits were signed along with a Commitment and Voluntary Participation Agreement with the Maumee Valley Planning Organization. The agreement is connected to the planned demolition of the old church on township property at 16495 State Route 576, directly next to the township hall.
Trustees approved the minutes and financial report, along with the payment of bills. The February bank reconciliation and a purchase order to Sedgwick were signed. Fire run reports from the Village of Montpelier were additionally reviewed.
A letter from the Department of Commerce regarding liquor permit renewals was received; trustees raised no objections.
Discussion was held on the $5 permissive motor vehicle license fee rate, but the matter was tabled for further review at the April 1, 2026, meeting.
A resolution was approved to move $1,500 within the fire levy fund to address increased tax collection fees at the county and state levels.
