Bryan Board Of Public Affairs Accepts Resignation As Part Of Brief Meeting

The Bryan Board of Public Affairs held their meeting on Tuesday, November 2nd at 5:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The boards first action was to approve minutes from the October 19th meeting.

With no public present to speak, the board moved to hear Resolution 33-2021 in regard to authorizing the terms for the fiber-coax lease payment.

It was stated that this payment is approved yearly and that this year a payment should be made in the amount of $25,000.

The payment is made from the Bryan Communication Department to the Bryan Electric Department. A motion was made to approve the resolution which passed.

The board then heard Resolution 34-2021 regarding the authorization of Change Order #1 for the construction of the 34.5kV upgrade project. A motion was made to approve the resolution which passed.


Next, the board heard a request to accept a resignation for Britton Poynter. Britton is an engineering assistant with the engineering department.

The resignation was made effective November 1st. A motion was made, with regrets, and was passed. The board then moved to accept the semi-monthly disbursements.

Comments were then made regarding security against ransomware attacks and employee training for cyber security. Numerous board members also wished Britton luck with the future before moving to adjourn for the evening.
