BRYAN BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS: Short Meeting Ends With Executive Session

The Bryan Board of Public Affairs met on November 7, 2023 for their regular meeting. Present were Chair Dick Long, members Annette Schreiner, Karen Ford, Jim Salsbury, and Tom Sprow, as well as BMU Director of Utilities Derek Schultz, Mayor Carrie Schlade and Clerk / Treasurer John Lehner.

First, the board approved the minutes from the October 17, 2023 meeting as presented, and then approved was a resolution updating BMU’s compensation plan for non-bargaining hourly and salaried employees.

A resolution was then approved promoting an engineering department employee off of probationary and on to regular employment status.

A clerk / treasurer employee was then promoted off probationary status and on to regular employment status via resolution as well before the board moved to pay the bills as presented. Mayor Schalde shared how great the tour of the hydro plant in Defiance County was.

The two employees promoted were then congratulated, and all veterans were wished a wonderful Veteran’s Day, before the board entered recess before an executive session held with regards to the acquisition of property and pay of a public employee.
