Bryan City Council, at the June 7, 2021 council meeting, began by approving the minutes of the previous meeting and the following items:
-Ordinance authorizing and directing the Mayor to Execute a contract with Regional Council of Governments for the Purpose of Administration and collection of Municipal Income Tax in the City of Bryan, Ohio, and declaring an Emergency.
-Ordinance providing for annual appropriations for the City of Bryan, for the FY ending December 31, 2021, and declaring an emergency
-Resolution providing for inter fund cash advances
-Resolution to accept a $100,000 Donation from the Bryan Area Foundation to the City of Bryan for the Bryan Senior Center Parking Lot Improvements, with rules suspended.
Hiring Seasonal Part timers for the Parks was a topic of information. The people who were hired with a 30 day probation were moved to Seasonal Hire.
A status change at the Fire Department was presented for Zachary M. and Casey S. who are now qualified for an increase in their pay scales. Council voted to approve the recommendation.
A Williams County Board of Health resignation was presented by Mayor Carrie Schlade, with appreciation for the service given.
Bruce Siders was the Mayor’s recommendation to be appointed to the WC Board of Health. Council voted to approve both the resignation and the appointment.
Council member John Betts thanked the BAF for the continued support, Jerry for his service on the Health Board and all who went through COVID on the Board and in the health department.
All council members congratulated and thanked all those in the approvals of the night.
Judy Yahraus asked how things are going with DORA. Mayor said that it will be suspended for the Jubilee, she has not heard of any issues with law enforcement or customers, the explanations and rules are being learned quickly, and so far so good.
