The Clinton Township Trustees held their meeting on Thursday, July 2, 2026. The meeting began at 1 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer, followed by approval of the June 18 meeting minutes, agenda and bills.

Trustees approved four levy resolutions for the November 3 General Election, including renewals for cemetery operations and current expenses and additional levies for fire and emergency medical services and township road improvements.

The township will seek renewal of a five-year, 0.15 mill levy for the maintenance and operation of Clinton Township cemeteries and a five-year, 0.30 mill levy for current township expenses.

Voters will also consider an additional five-year, 1 mill levy for fire and emergency medical services and an additional five-year, 1 mill levy for township road improvements. If approved, the levies would begin with the 2026 tax year and first be collected in 2027.

Trustees discussed concerns involving junk and other items sitting on properties throughout the township and ways the township could address the issue. Ideas included sharing information through the township website and Facebook page, encouraging residents to take pride in the community and possibly holding a township cleanup day.

The board also discussed how to promote the need for the four levy requests ahead of the November election.

The addition to the former salt shed has received approval from the state. Trustees also discussed a trailer located on township property following concerns raised by Ken Hale and agreed to make sure it is removed.

Earl Mechanic has expressed interest in purchasing the former Senior Center, with trustees discussing the potential sale of the property. The township’s pancake and sausage breakfast held during the Fulton County Threshers Convention generated approximately $3,000 in profit.

The money will be used toward the township building at the Fulton County Fairgrounds. The breakfast sold out at approximately 10:15 a.m.

Trustees also reported that water service is now working at Wauseon Cemetery. With no other items to attend to, the meeting was adjourned.
