VOLLEYBALL

North Central 3 Hilltop 2

A rematch of last season’s Division IV district championship lived up to the hype with the Eagles pulling out a 25-14, 19-25, 25-12,20-25, 15-8 victory. Kendal Bonney stuffed the stat sheet for North Central (2-0, 2-0 in BBC) by recording 22 kills, 22 assists, 10 digs, four aces, and three blocks. Madison Brown added 17 kills, 23 assists, 13 digs and Alexia Miller had 28 digs in the win.

Hilltop (0-1, 0-1 in BBC) was led statistically by Jayma Bailey with 20 digs, Gabby Rodriguez had 18 kills, and Kacy Connolly dished out 20 assists.

Hicksville 3 Wauseon 0

Two nights after a comeback win at Fairview, the Lady Indians (1-2) couldn’t duplicate the feat as they lost at Hicksville 22-25, 22-25, 22-25. No stats were reported.

Fairview 3 Bryan 0

The Apaches bounced back from a tough loss to Wauseon with a 25-14, 25-23, 25-14 win at Bryan. The Lady Bears were led by Gwen Spangler (12 kills, 12 digs), Crystal Fillman (15 assists), and Blayze Langenderfer (eight kills).

Paulding 3 Pettisville 1

Paris Coopshaw racked up 28 digs and went 9/10 serving as Pettisville dropped a non-league match in four sets 22-25, 20-25, 25-16, 19-25. Liz Rochefort had 15 kills and five solo blocks for the Blackbirds while Alli King was 15/16 serving and added 13 assists and 10 digs.

Evergreen 3 Rossford 1

Evergreen evened their record at 2-2 with a 25-11, 25-18, 20-25, 25-23 win at home over Rossford. No stats were reported.

Swanton 3 Delta 0

Woolace & Johnson

The Bulldogs remained undefeated on the young season (3-0) as they cruised to a 25-10, 25-13, 25-10 over Delta in a non-league tilt. Katlyn Floyd topped Swanton in kills with 14 and Sofie Taylor racked up 31 assists.

Archbold 3 Ayersville 1

Addi Ziegler tallied 51 assist to help Archbold to a season opening win at Ayersville 25-16, 23-25, 25-20, 25-20. Keely Culler and Ella Bowman added to Bluestreaks attack with 16 and 13 kills respectively.

Stryker 3 Fayette 0

Brianna Breier went 14/16 hitting with eight kills to help Stryker pick up their first BBC win 25-15, 25-10, 25-11. Haylee Fulk went 18/20 serving (four aces) with 12 assists and Sage Woolace recorded 12 digs and went 20/21 serving with four aces.

Montpelier 3 Edon 2

Another BBC contest went to a decisive fifth set with the Lady Locos grabbing a 25-18, 12-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-11 win. Kelsie Bumb paced Montpelier (3-0, 2-0 in BBC) by tallying 29 assists, Cadey Hilliard had 27 digs, three aces, and Chelsea McCord added 12 kills, 16 digs. Emma Hickman topped Edon (0-2, 0-1 in BBC) with 36 assists and Ashley Kaylor had seven kills, 13 digs.

Brayton Huffman was medalist with a 40 on the back nine at Ironwood Golf Course to lead Archbold past Edgerton. Carly Grime was next for the Bluestreakswith a 47, Aniyah Copeland fired a 59, and Gabby Rodriguez added a 64. Lola Giesige fronted Edgerton with a 48, Ashlyn Sleesman carded a 49, Briana Walkup had a 51, and Charlotte Blalock shot a 55.

Wauseon 193 Montpelier (no team score) Delta (no team score)

Calaway Gerken had a 42 at White Pines Golf Course as the Indians defeated Delta and Montpelier, with both schools unable to have a team total.

Antwerp 208 Evergreen 244

The Lady Vikings traveled to Pond-A-River Golf Course where they fell to Antwerp 208-244 in a non-league match. Chloe Creque post the lowscore for Evergreen with a 54 followed by Emma Vacculik (59), Ashlin Lutrell (62), and Sammy Miller (69).

BOYS GOLF

Pettisville 188 Fayette 221

Caden Bishop was medalist with a 42 to lead Pettisville past Fayette in a BBC match at Ironwood Golf Course. The Pettisville total was rounded out by Sam Myers (46), Blayn Meck (49), and Tobin King (51). Owen Lemley topped Fayette with a 45, Wyatt Mitchell had a 49, Gavin Stambaugh posted a 51, and Nevaeh Powers carded a 76.

Montpelier 162 North Central 162 (Montpelier wins on 5th man score)

D & M Tire

For the second time in as many weeks, Montpelier needed the 5th man score to secure a win, this time it was against BBC foe North Central. Jaxson Richmond led a balanced score sheet for the Locos with a 39, Easten Richmond shot a 40, Aidan Higbie added a 41, Drake Sommer tallied a 42, and Trent Thorp generated a 5th man score of 44.

Zack Hayes paced the Eagles with a 38 (medalist), Mason Sanford and Colin Patten each shot a 40, and Ben Petit tallied a 44.

Wauseon 167 Fairview 177

The Indians put together a solid 167 led by a 35 (-1) from Andy Scherer to knock off Fairview at Ironwood Golf Course. Jackson Glecker shot a 39, Mykale Schneider a 44, and Riley Morr rounded out the Indians with a 49.

Van Wert 158 Bryan 174

Nofzinger Electric

Drew Dauber had a 38 and Collin Shirkey recorded a 39 for Bryan in a loss to Van Wert at Riverside Greens. Bryan’s total was completed by Noah Huard (42) and Brayden Hall (55).

Hilltop 180 Stryker 198

Jaime Chester paced the Cadets with a 40 to lead them past Stryker 180-198. Elijah Kuszmaul was close behind with a 42 while Ella Calvin and Ian Hoffman each fired a 49. Gavin LaBo’s 43 led Stryker followed by Michael Donovan and Daniel Donovan each with 50s, and Angela Soellner and Gavin Paxton both shot a 55.

BOYS SOCCER

Evergreen 3 Pettisville 0

Riley Dunbar scored all three goals for the Vikings in their shutout win over Pettisville. Tyson Woodring assisted on two of the goals with Evan Lumbrezer adding one assist.

Arrow Tru-line

Bryan 4 Van Wert 0

The Golden Bears recorded 27 shots and they scored twice in the first half and added two more goals in the second half of a 4-0 win. Nathan Hess and Quinn scored the first half goals, both assisted by Dylan Koenig, while second half scores come from Koenig and Tomaszewski.

Springfield 5 Swanton 0

The Bulldogs fell to 0-3 on the year after a 5-0 loss to Springfield. No stats were reported.

Botkins 3 Wauseon 1

Coldwell Banker – Jennifer Tarkington

Wauseon suffered their first loss of the season as they lost to Botkins 3-1 as part of the Elida Fall Classic. No stats were reported.

Evergreen 4 Delta 1

Paige Radel and Sydney Woodring had two goals each to lead Evergreen (1-1-1, 1-0 in NWOAL) to the 4-1 NWOAL win over Delta. Faith Berger accounted for the Delta goal.

Woolace Electric

Liberty Center 2 Swanton 1

Swanton’s Megan Haselman tied the 1-1 with a goal at the 24:12 mark of the second half before the Tigers would score the go-ahead goal later in the half to secure a 2-1 win.

Wauseon 1 Oak Harbor 1

Wauseon traveled to Oak Harbor where they battled to a 1-1 tie with the Rockets. Teagan Rupp scored the lone goal for Wauseon off an assist from Aariyah Hallett.

Bryan 2 Archbold 0

NAMI

Delilah Taylor found the net midway way through the first half to give Bryan the lead as they went on to a 2-0 win in their NWOAL opener. The Bears added an insurance goal with 25 minutes left in the match as Allie Zimmerman scored off a pass from Taylor. Calysta Wasson was solid in goal with 10 saves on the night.
