Every Sunday, the Delta American Legion Post 373 opens its doors for breakfast, a weekly gathering that blends good food with community service. Members and volunteers keep things running smoothly, and many local students pitch in to earn community service hours.

The post can accommodate large groups, making it an easy place to meet friends and neighbors each week. The breakfast has also become well known beyond Fulton County, drawing in visitors from surrounding counties and even from across state lines.

Breakfast is $10 for adults and $7 for children aged 7 and up. Proceeds are directed back into the community, supporting schools, nonprofit organizations, and families in need, including families recovering after a house fire.

The legion is also working on scholarships and assistance for children in the West Unity and Bryan area who may need a fresh haircut or clothing before the start of school.

Youth groups play a significant role in the effort. On July 21, 2025, legion members formalized and approved a program that provides fundraising opportunities for local youth organizations.

Under the program, American Legion Post 373 donates $150 to any youth group that volunteers during a Sunday breakfast. Groups may also seek additional charitable support from the post if needed.

Eligible youth groups include sports, theater, arts, social, and academic clubs from schools and community organizations.

To avoid scheduling conflicts, groups must reserve their Sunday in advance. Each group must bring at least four youth volunteers and one adult leader. Larger groups are welcome.

Youth volunteers help by taking trays of food to tables, bussing dishes, wiping down tables, and assisting with dishwashing.

After breakfast concludes and cleanup is finished, the post provides the $150 donation to the group. Recent volunteers have included the Young Marines from Lenawee.

To reserve a Sunday volunteer opportunity, youth group leaders can contact Post 373 at 419-822-4526 or email deltalegion373@gmail.com.

Community members looking for a place to socialize on a Sunday morning while supporting local causes will find a warm welcome at the Delta American Legion.
