Delta FFA Chapter Participates In State Greenhand Quiz

On March 2nd, the Pike-Delta-York FFA Chapter members competed in the annual Ohio Greenhand Quiz.

The purpose of the Ohio Greenhand Quiz is to increase the basic knowledge of students about their organization and its operations.

To provide students another incentive to participate in a competency- based activity.

There are about 50 to 100 questions and to be able to participate you must be a first year member in ag ed. This usually applies to Freshman/Sophomores.

Statewide, Delta placed 40th overall and in District 1 Delta placed 7th. In the state contest placings were as follows Holden Barnes 122nd, Karsyn Gillen 244th, Ava Holly 244th, Mace Reckner 288th, Luke Snyder 335th, Sarah Richardson 446th, Kendra Ehrsam 762nd, Brody Waugh 835th, Bryan Shackleton 1007th, Kendal Vasquez 1073rd, Rylan Andrews 1553rd, Ethin McKenzie 1818th, and Blake Hilton 1876th.

In the state there were 2231 individuals and 150 teams. Making up the team for State and District 1 were Holden Barnes 16th, Karsyn Gillen 38th, Ava Holly 39th, and Mace Reckner 46th. Congratulations to all who participated!
