The end of April saw high school sophomores excited for history class, as they came in to present “ads” they had been working on.

This project, born from what Mr. Freado says was the want to “get kids excited” about learning history, began after the class finished studying American history through 1960.

This project combined the boom in marketing that era saw, with what they had learned throughout the course -having each group pick a time-period to create an advertisement for.

The advertisements, made for a scenario in the far future where time-travel is available to be purchased for vacations, were supposed to try and convince the audience that they should visit.

Each class period had their own presentations, and Mr. Freado’s 7th hour period was definitely bringing the heat.

Presenting that period was: Carter Waite (1790s); Cody Stricker (1980s); Richard Flores III and Logan Ringle (1970s); Emily Bruce, Makayla Davis, and Alina Clausen (1860s); Kennedy Mull (1950s-60s); and Dylan Krasula (1990s).

Featuring many tones of mudslinging, this period reminded the audience that this was a competition.

It can be said without a doubt that this is a project that those in Mr. Freado’s sophomore U.S. History students are not likely to forget!
