The Delta Village Council held their meeting on Monday, November 21st. The meeting began at 5:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer.

Council first moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting along with the current agenda including additions.

With no person wishing to address council, correspondences were addressed.

There will be an Ohio Environmental Protection Agency meeting coming up in Bowling Green. It was stated that some members of council should attend the meeting.

The fire funds in the amount of $127,000 was also discussed. The administrator’s report followed next with Christmas gifts for employees being mentioned first.

It was stated that the usual $100 gift card per employee should continue for this year’s gift.

The administrator then moved on to speak about a call he had received regarding a ward of the state being at the Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon.

With the individual being considered a ward of the state the cost and responsibility for the individual resides with the Village of Delta. By law the village will have to cover the costs up to at least $750.

However, when talking to funeral homes, an amount to at least cover the cost of cremation would be around $1250 to $1300.

Following discussion with council, it was decided to draw up legislation regarding the cost and what will be paid.

Next the financial director asked council for the approval of the invoices which passed before then informing council that a check was received regarding funds from the Chicken Festival.

It was then stated that a villages services meeting would need to be held and was scheduled for December 12th.

Council then moved on to approve the following legislative actions.

Ordinance 22-16 establishing 2023 salaries and wages for employees of the Village Of Delta Ohio.

Resolution 22-16 authorizing the village administrator to advertise for bids and enter into contract for the capital improvement projects in 2023.

Ordinance 22-18 to make appropriations for the Village of Delta, for 2023.

Ordinance 22-19 amending the compensation plan structure and administration manual addressing wages and certain benefits for the employees of the Village of Delta.

Resolution 22-18 authorizing the village administrator to dispose of certain surplus property not needed for any municipal purpose.

Resolution 22-19 authorizing the village administrator to execute an amendment to the agreement for indigent defense services in Fulton County court proceedings and declaring an emergency.

Resolution 22-20 authorizing the mayor to execute an employment agreement for interim village administrator services for the Village of Delta and declaring an emergency.

With no other business to be conducted, council entered into executive session. The meeting was then adjourned upon their return.
