DELTA – Last week, Delta volleyball standout Sydney Churchill signed a letter of intent to further her education and play volleyball at Owens Community College.
Churchill, who will be studying Psychology, was NWOAL and District honorable mention as a junior and her senior year accolades included 2nd Team All-NWOAL, honorable mention All-District, Bronze Scholar Academic Award, and team captain.
“I began talking to coaches after my sophomore season. Coach Denny Caldwell got in contact with me and came to a few of my club practices before I verbally committed after a visit to Owens in the spring”, said Churchill.
“They have a very strong program and coaches. I instantly knew that it was the right choice for me because of how welcoming and passionate everyone is.”
“I looked at other schools but Owens was my top choice for multiple athletic and academic reasons”, she added.
