The Dover Township Board of Trustees held its meeting on Monday, March 30, 2026, during which trustees addressed routine business, road maintenance planning and several upcoming infrastructure projects.
Trustee Owen Borton started the meeting at 7:30 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Guests in attendance included Larry Lammon III of Dover Maintenance, Christy Shadbolt of Regional Planning, and Geo Norman Windisch of County Road M, who attended with a permit-related question.
During the discussion, Shadbolt shared development figures from 2025, noting that a total of 43 development permits had been issued.
Trustees approved the minutes from the previous month’s regular meeting. Fiscal Officer Dianne Valentine then presented the fiscal report, which included a review of mail, fuel usage logs, bank reconciliation documents, financial reports from the previous month, and the current month’s receipts and payment listing. The board also unanimously approved payments for the month, totaling $12,168.99.
In the maintenance report, township officials noted that work is currently underway on mapping efforts to check catch basins and tile locations, a move expected to assist with future drainage and road maintenance planning.
Later in the meeting, the board entered executive session at 9:09 p.m. to discuss negotiations involving public employees, with the fiscal officer joining the session. Trustees returned to open session at 9:43 p.m. and tabled the matter without taking any action.

Under new business, trustees discussed a request involving the township’s roadside reclaimer, with Amboy Township expressing interest in renting the equipment for the season.
The conversation also led into a broader discussion on road work plans for the year, specifically whether to handle crack sealing in-house rather than contract the work out.
With the OPWC project on Road K expected to be substantial and the crack sealing budget limited, the board decided to have Dover Township maintenance crews complete the work this year.
With no other business to attend to, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 p.m. The next meeting will be held on Monday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m.
