The Williams County Commissioners met on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, to move forward with grant applications and hire a Michigan attorney for an out-of-state JFS legal case.
A retainer agreement was negotiated between David Stimpson of Stimpson & Associates P.C. and the Williams County Prosecutor. The office will represent Williams County JFS in an upcoming specified case in Michigan.
The cost is not to exceed the annual compensation of the County Prosecutor. Commissioners estimate the total cost will be significantly less.
Two resolutions were passed with the Maumee Valley Planning Organization (MVPO) for assistance with administering funds. The affected grants include the CDBG applications made in the program year 2025.
Additionally, an application for H2Ohio funding was approved. The resolution authorizes the County Engineer to apply for the Ohio River Basin H2Ohio Wetland Grant Program. If awarded, the funds will be used for the proposed Bona Vesta project.
A change order was rescinded for the North Annex Renovation project. “Upon further review from Commissioner Lirot, it was discovered that there was a credit issued on this change order, so there was no increase to the original contract,” Resolution 26-0173 stated.
A new property tax software system was approved for the County Auditor’s Office. ISSG, Inc. will offer its cloud-based tax management platform at a cost not to exceed $159,000 annually.
This will replace the system the county currently uses. The Auditor’s Office had reported experiencing long support response times that had delayed routine business with the current software. The Board adjourned at 9:55 a.m.
