Dustin Smetzer (1985-2020)

Dustin M. Smetzer, age 34, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 11:36 P.M. on Saturday, June 13, 2020, in his home. Dustin was a 2004 graduate of Bryan High School and had been employed by Bryan Plastics Processing in Bryan, where he was a forklift operator and machinist.

Known for his beanie and bicycle, “George,” he was a free spirit who lived life to the fullest. He was an avid gamer, loved to play Pokeman Go, and enjoyed watching movies and live music festivals.

Dustin M. Smetzer was born on September 1, 1985, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Cora Smetzer.

Survivors include his mother, Cora (Smetzer) Judkins, of Bryan; his father, Jeffery Goshorn, of Bryan; one son, Christian Smetzer, of Bryan; one daughter, Onnalee Smetzer, of Bryan; one sister, Elizabeth Kay (John) Caperton, of Bryan; his fianceé, Jessica Hall, of Bryan; and George, his beloved bicycle.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020, from 1:00-3:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan.  Services will follow, beginning at 4:00 P.M., on Thursday with Pastor Mark Holbrook officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date.


Memorials are requested to the family to help with expenses.  Donations may be made directly to the funeral home or sent to the GoFundMe page for Dustin’s Funeral and End of Life Expenses.

Due to the ongoing pandemic restrictions, recommended social distancing will be observed and attendance capacities will be monitored. The wearing of masks is encouraged.

Anyone showing any symptoms of infection may share their condolences by phone, email, text message, or leaving a condolence at the funeral home website.
