The Edgerton Board of Education met on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 6 p.m. Answering roll call were members Lyn Bowsher, Amanda Giesige, Nick Hug, Robert Siebenaler, and Bill Swank.

The minutes of the August regular meeting were approved as presented, as was the agenda for the evening.

Jawn Merillat then addressed the board, sharing the highlights of the 2023 Spanish trip before proposing the 2025 Spanish trip.

The treasurer presented the general fund report from August compared to last year, the monthly food service report, an update on PaySchools, and the report card financials.

All of the treasurer’s recommendations were approved as presented, which included the financial report, bills, investments, and appropriations for August.

All of the superintendent’s recommendations were approved as presented, including the purchase of a property located at 518 N Michigan Avenue and personnel recommendations.

The superintendent’s report included details on student enrollment, the professional development day held on September 12, the OSBA capital conference that is taking place November 5-7, and a district report card analysis.

The board carried a motion to approve an AOS policy update for NEOLA before hearing from Principal Brett Grieser on how the elementary students are doing great thus far.

Elementary students will see an RTI meeting day with Mrs. Eitniear on September 29, a canned food drive from October 2-6, Lego Club, Science Club, and an EES potluck on October 4, a square dance on October 5, and perfect attendance awards on October 6.

Principal Ben Wilhelm then shared that the high school has been doing well as they kick-off the year with assemblies and the fair, lined up to then experience Homecoming week. October 2-3 will see an OASSA Fall conference.

With no reason to enter into executive session, the Edgerton Board of Education voted to adjourn at 6:41 p.m., set to meet next October 16, 2023 at 6 p.m.
