PRESS RELEASE – The Edgerton Village Public Water System (PWS) is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed an Asset Management Program Capability Screening.
This important milestone demonstrates the PWS’s commitment to maintaining a robust and effective water system that prioritizes the community’s health and safety.
According to the acceptable release from the Ohio EPA “in review of Edgerton Village’s AMP, it has been determined the AMP is acceptable per OAC Rule 3745-87-04(D), which only grants acceptance of the AMP at the time of the review”.
The Asset Management Program Capability Screening aims to ensure that the PWS has a comprehensive Asset Management Program in place. This program includes thorough documentation of the system’s financial, managerial, and technical capabilities.
“We are proud to have successfully completed this screening, which reflects the team’s dedication to providing our community with safe and reliable drinking water,” said Robert Day, Mayor of Edgerton Village.
“This achievement underscores the importance of having a well-documented asset management program and highlights our proactive approach to maintaining and improving our water infrastructure.”
The successful completion of the screening is particularly significant for small water systems, as it emphasizes the necessity of adhering to the highest standards of operational efficiency and safety.
The Ohio EPA’s procedures provide essential guidelines that help small water systems identify and address areas of improvement, ensuring long-term sustainability and reliability.
Passing the EPA screening not only enhances community trust but also positions the Edgerton Village PWS to access potential funding and resources for future infrastructure improvements and upgrades.
“This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the PWS employees, as well as the ongoing support of the community.” Dawn Fitzcharles, Village Administrator.
