On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the Edgerton Village Council convened at 5:30 p.m. Mayor Robert Day opened the session with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer.

The roll call confirmed the presence of council members Sharon Blinzler, Jason Gruver, Lance Bowsher, Leslie VanAusdale, and Pam Wampler, alongside Fiscal Officer Denise Knecht. Village Administrator Dawn Fitzcharles participated via phone. Several members from the community were also in attendance.

The council moved to approve the minutes from the April 8th meeting, with a motion by Wallace, seconded by Wampler.

Mayor Day shared updates on upcoming community events. The village will celebrate Arbor Day with a tree planting at the Hess residence.

Additionally, Parkview Care Center will host an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, at 1:30 p.m., promising a fun-filled event for families.

Fiscal Officer Denise Knecht distributed the village’s bills and receipts for review. Council member Bowsher motioned to approve the payments, with Gruver seconding.

The council approved hiring Joe Albertson as a part-time general laborer. The motion to approve was proposed by VanAusdale and seconded by Blinzler.

The council also addressed a motion to accept grant funds from TC Energy to purchase hazardous condition monitoring equipment for the Fire Department.

Village Administrator Dawn Fitzcharles, joining by phone, explained that the funds would support gas monitors, testing, and calibrations, enhancing public safety.

The motion, introduced by Gruver and seconded by VanAusdale, was paired with the passage of Ordinance No. 1153, which supplements the 2025 annual appropriations to accommodate the grant.

The meeting concluded at 5:45 p.m. with a motion to adjourn by VanAusdale, seconded by Bowsher. The council set its next meeting for Wednesday, May 7, at 5:30 p.m.
