Edon Bombers Take The Sectional Title By Annihilating Edgerton In Six Innings

EDON – The way River Wicker was pitching, it was not going to take much for the Edon Bombers to win the May 15 Sectional championship game over Edgerton. Brock Thiel put the matter to rest, post haste.[emember_protected custom_msg=”Full content protected for online subscribers. Wicker allowed no runs on just two hits and three walks over six innings, and Thiel launched a three-run bomb in the top of the first inning to start an offensive onslaught that ended with the Boys in Bomber Blue impounding the Bulldogs by a 13-0 score.

With Thiel’s tater, Edon posted four in the first, then made the game Mission Impossible for Edgerton in the second after the Bombers tacked on another five. Another four in the top of the sixth did nothing but add another layer of icing to the celebratory cake, and invoke the run rule to save another inning of wear on Wicker’s arm.

Thiel finished with a double and his three-run dinger, and Wyatt Zulch had a 2-RBI base hit. Matt Cook had a pair of singles and an RBI, Kaden Sapp had a pair of base hits, and Dakota Parrish had a single.
